Goblins & Grimoires

Goblins & Grimoires is a table top fantasy role-playing game based on the Four Points RPG System.

Overview
In this game you'll play as a gang of Goblins, small burrowing creatures, inhabiting the lands of Pherendel. For one reason or another, you have decided to learn magic! However, practicing magic in Pherendel is a tricky business: you'll need to find the right ingredients, know how to prepare them, and come up with a good incantation. Most importantly of all, you'll need a Grimoire to write everything down in, or the spell just won't work. Even when spells do work, you can never tell what the side-effects will be!

The Lands of Pherendel
The Pherendel Islands are waiting to be explored, but have a care. They are not only inhabited by Goblins. The various strange peoples that the Goblins refer to collectively as 'Bigfolk' have settlements all across Pherendel. There are also a variety of weird and wonderful Creatures and Spirits to be encountered, befriended or fled from!

Spell-Crafting and Casting
In G&G, spells must be crafted by combining specific ingredients and preparing them in certain ways, before assigning them an incantation. Once the spell's full recipe has been written down in a Grimoire, it can be cast. However, only the person who wrote the spell down will be able to cast it! What's more, every time a spell is cast, the player must roll for magical side effects. The chances of negative side-effects go down as the spell-caster's level go up... but increasing your spell-casting level requires spell failures. Nobody said magic was going to be easy!

The Four Points RPG System
Four Points is an RPG System that focuses on Characters, Narrative, Player Agency and Customisation. This game includes all the necessary rules for playing it, and the unabridged Four Points SRD is  available on my itchio store!
